Hooray for the Beach!

Last week we were able to take a few days (thanks to some great help at work) and squeeze in a last minute beach trip.  We went to Orange Beach and stayed in a condo with Justin & Danielle and their two boys.  Thankfully, the oil didn't give us too much of a problem.  We did find tar balls in some areas but the biggest sign was all of the animals that were hanging around in shallow water (some a little too close for comfort).  We noticed the usual jelly fish and sand crabs but we also saw lots of dolphins, several big blue crabs, 4 sting rays, 3 sharks and a manatee.  One of the sharks was about 5 feet long and came into waist deep water to chase down a meal, discovery channel style.  Lucky for everyone in the water he chose a fish that was about 30 feet away.

Addie liked playing in the ocean, but she definitely preferred the condo pool.  I think that's because there wasn't any sand at the pool.  She hated the sand and refused to walk in it if you put her down.  On day three she finally played walked around in it for about 5 minutes and quickly decided that was enough.  I can't say that I blame her for not being a big fan.  Fortunately our friends are experienced in taking kids to the beach and they brought an inflatable boat that we filled with water and let Addie use as a personal swimming pool. She loved that idea!

So now we are back to the real world and back to reality.  It seemed to smack us in the face when we returned.  Work has been crazy busy with appointments and new enrollments, but busy is a good thing when you own your own business!
